Please find additional details about the role below: Job Title: Packaging Engineer Location: Norwood, OH (Onsite) Pay Rate: $28/hr-$30/hr on W2 (All Inclusive) Type: Contract Duration: 12+ Months Job Overview Position Summary This role supports the SAP implementation project and broader packaging initiatives by ensuring accurate and compliant packaging material master data and specifications. The Packaging Engineer will collaborate with the Global Packaging Materials team to manage data, maintain documentation quality, and assist with operational and analytical tasks related to packaging engineering. Key Responsibilities SAP & Data Management • Assist with data import and management for SAP projects • Maintain packaging material master data accuracy • Ensure proper documentation and compliance across systems Operational Support • Support Global Packaging Materials Team in daily operations • Maintain packaging specifications in internal systems • Provide documentation and compliance support Project & Analytical Support • Assist in packaging-related data analysis • Contribute to special projects within packaging engineering • Support sustainability and change control initiatives Key Accountabilities • Ensure accuracy of packaging specifications and data • Support SAP system implementation activities • Maintain documentation quality and compliance standards • Provide cross-functional support to packaging teams Strategic Impact • Plays a critical role in SAP project execution • Supports compliance and standardization of packaging materials • Contributes to efficiency in packaging processes and data systems Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Science, or equivalent • 1+ years of experience in packaging engineering or related field • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP Preferred Qualifications • Knowledge of dangerous goods packaging • Familiarity with data management systems • Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) • Exposure to sustainable packaging and change control processes Additional Skills • Strong analytical and documentation skills • Willingness to learn and adapt • Attention to detail and compliance standards • Basic IT/data handling knowledge Additional Operational Responsibilities (Production Support) • Handle chemical packaging and weighing processes • Operate semi-automated dispensing and labeling equipment • Maintain safety protocols and PPE usage • Complete production logs and documentation • Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment • Ensure adherence to GDP (Good Documentation Practices) • Support material movement and packaging operations • Participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives Physical & Functional Requirements • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (if required in operations) • Basic math and measurement skills • Ability to follow SOPs and safety protocols • Good coordination and manual dexterity • Strong teamwork and communication skills Workplace & Safety • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards • Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S standards) • Participate in proactive safety culture and reporting About Trident: Trident Consulting is an award-winning IT/engineering staffing company founded in 2005 and headquartered in San Ramon, CA.
