Role description
Location: Memphis, TN (Tech Ops Office)
Client: Large Banking Institution
Contract: 6-month contract-to-hire
Schedule: On-site, 5 days per week
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payments Business Analyst to join a dynamic payments team. This role requires a strong understanding of banking operations, payment systems, and agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will serve as a critical liaison between product owners and development teams, ensuring seamless translation of business needs into actionable user stories and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Gather and document payment system requirements with precision and clarity.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to define product vision and align development priorities.
β’ Lead ideation and conceptualization of new products, features, and enhancements to meet customer needs and drive competitive advantage.
β’ Conduct Agile ceremonies and maintain artifacts using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
β’ Develop and articulate product strategy to stakeholders, fostering alignment and support.
β’ Perform process mapping and gap analysis to identify opportunities for improvement.
β’ Ensure compliance with payment verification processes and regulatory requirements.
β’ Work with multiple payment rails and integrations, including RTP, FedNow, ACH, and wire transfers.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ 5+ years of experience in payment systems requirements gathering and documentation.
β’ Strong knowledge of banking operations and payment ecosystems (treasury vs. consumer).
β’ Proven ability to bridge the gap between product owners and developers in an Agile environment.
β’ Expertise in Agile tools (JIRA, Confluence) and experience facilitating Agile ceremonies.
β’ Professional experience in banking or financial services.
β’ Excellent communication, collaboration, and professional demeanor within a team environment.
Preferred Skills (Nice To Have)
β’ Treasury management experience.
β’ Familiarity with payment compliance and verification processes.
