Senior Payroll Analyst
Andiamo is hiring on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join a high-volume payroll operations team supporting a large, multi-state workforce. This role is ideal for a payroll professional who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional analytical skills and a passion for accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.

Position Overview
As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for a large employee population across multiple jurisdictions. You will leverage advanced payroll systems, reporting tools, and analytical capabilities to support payroll operations, audit processes, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
This role requires a highly detail-oriented professional who can confidently navigate large data sets, troubleshoot payroll issues, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across HR, Finance, Accounting, and Operations.

What You'll Do
Payroll Processing & Compliance
β’ Support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a large, geographically distributed workforce.
β’ Ensure payroll activities comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
β’ Review payroll transactions, earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
β’ Perform payroll audits and validation procedures to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll finalization.
β’ Assist in maintaining payroll controls, procedures, and documentation to support compliance and operational excellence.
Data Analysis & Reporting
β’ Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
β’ Create and maintain reports, reconciliations, and payroll-related analytics using advanced Excel functions and reporting tools.
β’ Utilize data-driven insights to support payroll decision-making and operational efficiency.
β’ Investigate payroll variances and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
System Administration & Problem Resolution
β’ Work within enterprise payroll platforms to process transactions, perform audits, and maintain payroll records.
β’ Troubleshoot payroll system issues, data inconsistencies, and calculation errors.
β’ Identify root causes of payroll discrepancies and implement effective solutions.
β’ Support system enhancements, testing initiatives, and process optimization projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
β’ Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Benefits, and other internal teams to ensure payroll accuracy.
β’ Provide payroll expertise and guidance regarding compliance, reporting, and system-related questions.
β’ Assist with audits, regulatory reporting requirements, and special payroll projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
β’ 4β5+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment.
β’ Experience supporting payroll operations for large employee populations, preferably 10,000+ employees.
β’ Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax requirements, wage and hour considerations, and compliance practices.
β’ Experience processing and/or auditing payroll within ADP GlobalView, SAP Payroll, or similar enterprise payroll platforms.
β’ Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
Technical Skills
β’ Deep understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
β’ Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to perform complex payroll calculations with precision.
β’ Advanced Excel skills, including:
β’ VLOOKUP
β’ SUMIF and related formulas
β’ IF statements
β’ Pivot tables
β’ Statistical and analytical functions
β’ Strong reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis capabilities.
β’ Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll data and formula issues.
