Role description
Responsibilities Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced Perl Developer in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Maryland Heights, MO. Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Perl Developer with strong SQL expertise to join a collaborative and experienced data applications team. This role involves working within an established framework while having the autonomy to propose and implement efficient solutions. The Developer will enhance datasets, support enterprise-level applications, and create custom ETL processes when existing tools cannot meet business needs. Responsibilities: β€’ Develop and maintain scripts primarily in Perl to support enterprise applications and data workflows β€’ Work with complex SQL queries, including CTEs and window functions, to prepare and enhance data for downstream use β€’ Support data pipelines and ETL processes, including custom ETL development when required β€’ Connect to various data sources, including APIs, and handle formats such as XML and CSV β€’ Monitor system queries and dashboards, identifying and resolving anomalies across large datasets β€’ Prepare data for front-end teams to visualize and consume β€’ Collaborate with team members to continuously optimize data processes and workflows β€’ Apply creative problem-solving to improve efficiency within the framework while driving best practices Requirements β€’ Experience working with APIs, including authentication methods, log analysis, and data transformation β€’ Advanced SQL skills, including experience with CTEs, window functions, and highly complex queries β€’ Experience with PL/SQL β€’ Solid understanding of Linux environments β€’ Familiarity with version control tools such as Git β€’ Strong proficiency in Perl (experience in Shell or Python considered, but Perl strongly preferred) β€’ Ability to prepare, enrich, and deliver data for front-end visualization Nice To Have Skills β€’ Exposure to DevOps or CI/CD environments β€’ Some knowledge of front-end reporting tools (e.g., React), though not required Ideal Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is a strong software developer with expertise in ETL processes and data transformation, not just a data engineer. They should be proactive, independent, and capable of recommending efficient approaches while collaborating with a seasoned team. The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
