Role description
Akkodis is seeking a Windchill Administrator for a contract position with a client located in Houston, TX. This role requires hands‑on experience with Windchill and the ability to support PLM/CAD processes, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive improvements across engineering and product development environments. The ideal candidate will partner closely with business and technical teams to enhance PLM capabilities, streamline processes, and support the evolution toward modern digital technologies including Cloud, AI, and advanced CAD/PLM tools. Pay Range: $48-50 /HR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams to improve PLM processes, best practices, conventions, data quality, and cross‑functional communication. • Support and enhance PTC’s suite of PLM/CAD products, including Windchill PDMLink, Creo Parametric, Creo View, ProjectLink, PartsLink, and MPMLink. • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex PLM systems issues; develop clear problem statements and requirement documents. • Create conceptual solution designs for development teams, ensuring simplicity and minimal customization. • Support configuration, deployment, and enhancement of Windchill 12+ applications, including integrations with ERP and MES systems. • Assist in PLM data management, CAD data management, change management, parts & BOM structure management, and related engineering workflows. • Learn, use, or support project management, Windchill/Creo user skills, and data management processes as needed. • Participate in solution development involving Windchill APIs, Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, Spring, SOAP/REST web services, HTML/CSS, Oracle, Eclipse, and ThingWorx; experience helpful but not required. • Collaborate cross‑functionally to maintain standardization, reduce complexity, and promote common PLM/CAD practices across the enterprise. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, OR equivalent experience. • 1–2 years of Windchill experience with a technical degree, OR 4–6 years of Windchill experience without a technical degree. • Experience with Windchill, Creo Parametric, Creo View, and/or Arbortext support, training, or administration (preferred). • Familiarity with PLM administration within a large engineering or manufacturing organization. • Working knowledge of PTC PLM modules including Windchill PDMLink, ProjectLink, PartsLink (Classification), MPMLink, and CAD integrations. • Experience in CAD Data Management, Change Management, BOM/Parts Management, and ERP/MES integrations. • Aptitude or interest in computer science, programming, or system customization (preferred). • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, document requirements, and drive PLM process improvements with limited supervision. • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with interest in a long‑term PLM administration and analyst career path.
