Role description
Akkodis is seeking a PLM/Windchill Business Process Specialist for a Contract-to-hire position with a client located in San Diego, CA, or Houston, TX (Onsite 5 days a week).
Pay Range: $45/hr - $50/hr, The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors
Need local or nearby candidates only. W2 only. Not open to sponsorship.
Must have: PLM, Windchill, and CAD experience.
Job Description:
Looking for someone who would be expected to know, or learn as needed, enough about Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)-related roles/processes/products AND about PLM and CAD tools to partner with the business to properly solve problems and make improvements. These tools primarily include PTC's Windchill PDMLink application, using PTC's Creo Parametric and Creo View with an increasing focus on rapidly evolving AI, Cloud, and other newer technologies.
• This typically does not include day-to-day production support (but often will), but rather deals with relationships, communications, data, methods/processes, conventions (promoting commonality!), improvements, etc.
• It requires an ability to troubleshoot tough issues, write a clear problem statement, understand and write requirements, and create optimal conceptual/solution designs, which (as needed) can be used by developers in technical design & coding.
• It may also require using/learning project management, data management, and Windchill/Creo software user skills. Computer science or deep technical knowledge is useful but not required.
• An analyst's objective should always be solving problems and creating solutions while avoiding/minimizing complexity and/or customizations (Simplicity: The art of maximizing the amount of work not done!).
Minimum Requirements:
• Degree in engineering or computer science field, plus 1-2 years experience using Windchill, 4-6 years experience using Windchill.
Preferred:
• Windchill, Creo Parametric, and/or Arbortext support/training/administration experience. Strong computer science background or aptitude/interest. Looking for someone with a desire for a long-term engagement and growth in the PLM administration and analyst arena.
An ideal candidate would also be experienced or familiar with the following:
• PLM system or business administration experience in a large engineering or manufacturing company
• In-depth working knowledge of PTC's suite of products, primarily Windchill, ProjectLink, PartsLink (Classification), MPMLink, Creo View, and Creo Parametric
• PLM domain expertise in the areas of Computer Aided Design (CAD), Data Management, Parts & Bills of Material Management, Change Management, Integrations with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system & Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
• Windchill solution development, customization, configuration, and deployment especially on Windchill 12+
• Experience in development and implementation of large Windchill Applications including some understanding of Windchill APIs, Java, JSP, Servlets, Spring, JavaScript, Web services - SOAP & REST, HTML, CSS, Oracle, Eclipse, and Thingworx.
