Job Description:
Sr. PL/SQL Developer
Location: Ocoee, Florida (Remote)
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Employment Type: Contract to Perm
Employment Authorization: Candidate must be able to work directly on w2 without needing sponsorship now or in the future
Role Overview
We are seeking a Sr. PL/SQL Developer for a contract-to-hire position. This role is focused on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing complex, legacy database systems. The ideal candidate will be adept at working with PL/SQL in an Oracle 11g-19c environment, handling production support and project based new development, navigating code with minimal documentation. This is a ticket and support-focused position that involves working with various teams on maintenance, bug fixes, and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Participate in a support rotation to address production issues, research inquiries, and resolve system problems.
β’ Develop, maintain, and enhance PL/SQL packages, procedures, and triggers.
β’ Work with Business Analysts to understand requirements for maintenance tasks, enhancements, and bug fixes.
β’ Manage tickets for maintenance and enhancements, ensuring timely resolution.
β’ Create reports and shell scripts as part of backend development and support activities.
β’ Analyze and troubleshoot legacy code to understand functionality and implement necessary changes.
β’ Collaborate with front-end development teams to ensure backend PL/SQL logic supports application functionality.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of five years of development experience with PL/SQL. Experience with Oracle database versions 11g through 19c is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in PL/SQL development, including packages, procedures, and triggers. Candidates must be comfortable working within and maintaining legacy codebases, often with unstructured documentation.
Soft Skills: The role requires an independent thinker who can take a task and see it through to completion. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively on ticket-based support tasks are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports is highly preferred.
β’ Demonstrated ability to work with complex business rules.
β’ Experience in an enterprise-level environment.
β’ Familiarity with Java or JSON.
