Role description
Job Title: QA Engineer (POS & Playwright) Location: Seattle, WA, USA Employment Type: Contract Work Mode: Onsite Role Summary We are seeking experienced QA Engineers with strong Point of Sale (POS) testing experience and hands-on expertise in Playwright automation to support enterprise-level application testing initiatives. The ideal candidate will ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of retail and transaction-based systems while working closely with development and business teams. Key Responsibilities β€’ Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios. β€’ Perform manual and automated testing for POS, web, and backend applications. β€’ Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright. β€’ Conduct functional, regression, system, and integration testing. β€’ Validate POS transactions, payment processing, inventory, and reporting workflows. β€’ Identify, document, and track defects using standard defect management tools. β€’ Perform API and backend testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured. β€’ Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. β€’ Prepare and share test execution reports and quality metrics. β€’ Ensure compliance with QA standards, processes, and best practices. β€’ Support continuous improvement of testing methodologies. Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field. β€’ Proven experience in software testing and quality assurance. β€’ Strong hands-on experience in POS system testing. β€’ Solid experience in manual and automation testing. β€’ Expertise in Playwright for test automation. β€’ Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, or similar. β€’ Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies. β€’ Experience with API testing tools. β€’ Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. β€’ Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills. Preferred Skills β€’ Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab. β€’ Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). β€’ Knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques. β€’ Scripting experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript. β€’ Experience testing retail, payment, or transaction-based systems. β€’ Knowledge of PCI compliance and POS security standards (plus).
