Job Title: Power BI Architect / Lead – Financial Domain Employment Type: Contract Duration: 6+ months with potential extension Start: 12/1/2025 End Client: Confidential Location: Houston, TX Workplace Type: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and analytical Power BI Developer to design, build, and maintain executive-level financial dashboards for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR). The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with finance, operations, and leadership teams to create compelling, interactive dashboards that provide actionable insights on key business performance metrics such as Net Revenue, EBITDA, Cash Flow, SG&A, Production Efficiency, and Distribution/Transportation Costs. This is a high-visibility role that directly supports C-Suite executives, requiring a keen understanding of financial KPIs, corporate reporting, data storytelling, and data governance. Qualifications: Required: β€’ 7+ years of experience in BI development with a strong focus on Power BI. β€’ 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or working with finance-related KPIs. β€’ Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and building complex data models. β€’ Proficiency in SQL and integrating cloud data sources (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure). β€’ Experience in creating dashboards tailored to C-level audiences with strong UX/visualization design principles. β€’ Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate them into executive-level insights. Preferred: β€’ Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or distribution industries. β€’ Familiarity with SAP data structures, particularly FI/CO, MM, and SD modules. β€’ Background in data warehousing and ETL design. β€’ Exposure to corporate finance concepts such as P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis. Key Responsibilities: Dashboard Design & Development β€’ Design and develop high-impact, visually compelling Power BI dashboards tailored for executive-level consumption. β€’ Translate complex financial and operational data into intuitive visuals and metrics aligned with MBR/QBR processes. β€’ Build drill-down capabilities to allow executives to explore metric drivers by region, product line, or business unit. Data Modeling & Integration β€’ Connect to diverse data sources including SAP (FI/CO), Snowflake, AWS S3, Excel, and SQL Server to create reliable, refreshable data models. β€’ Develop and optimize DAX queries and data transformations (Power Query/M) for high performance and scalability. β€’ Ensure semantic models are aligned with business definitions for KPIs and metrics. Business Stakeholder Engagement β€’ Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to gather requirements and align KPIs with strategic goals. β€’ Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand current pain points and translate them into user-centric dashboard features. β€’ Regularly present dashboard updates, insights, and enhancement plans to leadership teams. Governance & Documentation β€’ Ensure data security, access control, and compliance with internal governance standards. β€’ Maintain comprehensive documentation on dashboard logic, data sources, and business rules. β€’ Implement CI/CD processes and version control for Power BI artifacts.
