Power BI Dashboard Developer

Power BI Dashboard Developer Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Dashboard Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive business intelligence dashboards and reports. The ideal candidate combines strong data-modeling ability with creative visualization skills and a passion for transforming data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insights for stakeholders. Connect to multiple data sources (SQL Server, APIs, Excel, etc.) and optimize data refresh performance. Design efficient data models using Power Query (M) and DAX. Implement drill-downs, KPIs, and other visualization techniques for executive and operational reporting. Collaborate with analysts, architects, and business users to define requirements and validate data accuracy. Publish and secure datasets, workspaces, and dashboards in the Power BI Service environment. Document data flows, calculations, and report logic. Stay current on best practices in BI visualization, governance, and performance tuning. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in Power BI development and data analytics. Strong understanding of SQL Server, relational databases, and data modeling. Proficiency with DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service administration. Experience with ETL tools or data pipelines. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Skills Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks. Experience developing governed data models and role-based security in BI. Exposure to Python, R, or other analytical scripting languages. Certification such as Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) is a plus. Job Type: Contract Pay: $70.00 - $100.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Work Location: Remote
