Role Objective
We are seeking a seasoned Senior MSBI Developer to spearhead the design, development, and modernization of our enterprise data platform. You will be responsible for the end-to-end BI lifecycle—from architecting complex ETL pipelines to delivering high-performance analytical models. As a Lead, you will bridge the gap between legacy on-premise systems and modern cloud solutions, ensuring our data architecture is scalable, performant, and secure.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End BI Architecture
ETL Leadership: Design and oversee the development of complex SSIS packages to integrate data from heterogeneous sources (Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, APIs).
Advanced Modeling: Build and maintain high-performance SSAS models (both Tabular and Multidimensional). Write expert-level DAX and MDX to support complex business logic.
Enterprise Reporting: Direct the creation of pixel-perfect, interactive reports in SSRS, managing the full deployment lifecycle including security and automated subscriptions.
1. Data Strategy & Design
Architect robust Star and Snowflake schemas optimized for analytical performance.
Implement and manage Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) to maintain historical data integrity.
Lead Performance Tuning initiatives, including SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and cube partitioning to handle high-volume datasets.
1. Cloud Modernization & Innovation
Drive the migration strategy from on-premise MSBI stacks to Azure.
Develop cloud-native integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse Analytics.
Evaluate and implement emerging BI trends to keep the organization’s data stack competitive.
1. Mentorship & Governance
Provide technical leadership and code reviews for a team of BI developers.
Establish best practices for documentation, version control (Git/TFS), and deployment automation.
Required Qualifications
Technical Mastery: 8+ years of experience in the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS).
SQL Expert: Deep expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, and query performance tuning.
Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Azure Data Services (ADF, Synapse, SQL Azure).
Analytical Depth: Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical architectures.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
