Audit and Risk Recruitment are partnering with a Local Council for a Power BI Developer, on a short term contract, paying £500 per day (outside IR35) The Role We're seeking a talented Power BI Developer to design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that will drive critical decision-making. You'll be at the heart of transforming complex data into actionable business intelligence. Key Responsibilities Design & Develop: Create visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports that tell compelling data stories Technical Excellence: Connect diverse data sources (Capita, SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs) and implement efficient data models using star schema architecture Collaboration: Work closely with our Data Group, SEND Business Analyst, Capita lead, and Head of Service to translate business requirements into technical solutions Performance Focus: Define KPIs, manage data refreshes, and ensure optimal report performance and scalability Knowledge Sharing: Provide training and support to end-users, helping them maximize Power BI capabilities What We're Looking For Essential: • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience • Strong Power BI development experience • SQL proficiency and data modeling expertise • Experience with various data sources and ETL processes Preferred: • Microsoft Power BI certification • Experience in public sector or SEND services • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices What's on Offer Competitive Rate: £500/day (Outside IR35) Flexible Working: Fully remote with occasional collaboration Work-Life Balance: 35 hours/week across 5 days Contract Duration: Until 31st January 2026 Why This Role?
