Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with a strong background in query folding and data modeling to design, develop, and maintain scalable business intelligence solutions. This role requires deep knowledge of Power Query (M language), DAX, and data integration best practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience optimizing performance through efficient query folding and building robust, enterprise-ready dashboards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
• Implement and optimize data transformation logic using Power Query, ensuring maximum query folding.
• Create efficient and reusable datasets with a strong focus on data refresh performance and query optimization.
• Connect to various data sources (SQL Server, Azure, APIs, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and implement appropriate security measures (e.g., RLS).
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and provide insights.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using native query diagnostics and Power BI performance analyzer.
• Document data models, transformation logic, and report structures.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to BI development best practices.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in Power BI development.
• Strong hands-on experience with query folding in Power Query.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query M, and SQL.
• Solid understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., star/snowflake schema, normalization).
• Experience with Power BI Service (publishing, gateways, data refresh scheduling).
• Familiarity with source control (e.g., Git) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
