Power BI Developer

Responsibilities may include: • Analyzing business processes to identify opportunities for automation and optimization. • Designing and developing automation scripts, workflows, and tools to improve efficiency and productivity. • Collaborating with other team members to integrate automation solutions with existing systems and processes. • Testing and debugging automation solutions to ensure they meet quality standards. • Providing support and troubleshooting assistance for automation solutions. • Documenting technical specifications, user manuals, and other relevant documentation. • Leading and mentoring junior automation developers. • Staying current with industry trends and developments in automation technologies. • Evaluating and selecting automation tools and technologies. Requirements: • Build automations for the department. • Extract data, fill out forms, populate third party forms, streamline workflows, automate things for my project managers. • Build Power BI dashboards. Improve department efficiency and productivity. • Integrate isolated and legacy data systems. • Build a visual platform to represent our project work geographically. Top 3 Skills Needed: 1. Data Analysis & Requirements Translation • Ability to gather inputs from program leadership and stakeholders, translate them into clear requirements, and turn messy data into usable insights. 1. Dashboard & Reporting Development (Power BI) • Skill in building clear, executive‑ready dashboards that track portfolio health (schedule, risk, workload, metrics) and support decision‑making. 1. Business Acumen & Communication • Capability to explain data trends and insights in plain language to leaders and partners, not just produce visuals. Candidate MUST haves: • Hands‑on Power BI experience • Proven experience developing dashboards and reports used by leadership or decision‑makers. • Strong SQL + Excel skills • Ability to query, validate, transform, and reconcile data across multiple sources. • Experience as a Business Analyst, not just a report builder • Must be comfortable gathering requirements, documenting logic, and iterating with stakeholders in a fast‑moving environment. Education Level/Type: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience – data analytics and/or business analysis experience and powerbi certification would be a strong preference but not required Specific Experience: Technical/Software • Power BI – Dashboard and report development • SQL – Data extraction and validation • Excel – Data analysis, reconciliation, and ad‑hoc reporting • Familiarity with Utility data / Oracle’s Customer Care and Billing Platform (CC&B) preferred/not required • Familiarity with CRM platforms, ideally Saratoga CRM – preferred but not required
