Location:-Chicago, IL or Irving, TX-Hybrid in office Tues, Wed, Thurs
Duration:-6 to 8 weeks Contract to hire
Key Responsibilities:-

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for business users.
• Gather, extract, and integrate data from multiple data sources including Databricks, SQL databases, cloud platforms, APIs, Excel, SharePoint, and other enterprise systems.
• Develop complex data models using Power BI semantic models and optimize them for performance.
• Use Power Query to cleanse, transform, and prepare data for reporting.
• Build automated data refresh processes and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Analyze existing reports and recommend improvements to performance, usability, and visualization.
• Create drill-through reports, bookmarks, tooltips, and advanced visualizations to enhance user experience.
• Troubleshoot report performance and optimize queries for scalability.
• Maintain documentation for dashboards, data models, and ETL processes.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and access control standards.
• Support end users by providing training, documentation, and troubleshooting assistance.
• Work closely with database administrators, data engineers, and application developers to deliver reporting solutions.
• Stay current with Microsoft Power BI features, best practices, and emerging BI technologies.
Required Qualifications (Must Haves)
• 3+ years of experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards in an enterprise environment.
• Overall 5+ years experience in development/Power BI
• Must have experience with databricks for the datasource
• Skilled in Microsoft Power BI technologies, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query (M), and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
• SQL development skills, including writing and optimizing complex joins, stored procedures, views, window functions, and query performance optimization. Experience pulling data from multiple enterprise data sources and integrating disparate datasets.
• Understanding of ETL and data transformation processes.
• Experience creating executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and operational reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
