Power BI Developer

Position Title: Power BI Developer Location: Tallahassee, FL Duration: Long Term Contract Job Summary Seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong Business Intelligence expertise, advanced SQL skills, and hands-on experience with IBM DB2 databases. The candidate will be responsible for developing dashboards, paginated reports, dataflows, and enterprise reporting solutions while supporting financial data analysis and reporting modernization initiatives. Required Experience • Minimum 3+ years of Business Intelligence experience • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI dashboard and report development • Strong experience with IBM DB2 databases Primary Responsibilities • Analyze current data environments and data structures to identify transformation requirements prior to dashboard development • Collaborate with management to build and maintain the organization’s reporting roadmap • Review and improve existing reports based on evolving business requirements • Automate data transformation processes and reduce dependency on Microsoft Excel pivot-table reporting • Read, analyze, and document WebFOCUS and Mainframe FOCUS queries and convert them into T-SQL queries • Work with Database Administrators to create database views and stored procedures for Power BI reporting • Develop and maintain Power BI Dataflows • Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to financial system data models • Administer Power BI dedicated workspaces • Train business users and finance/comptroller staff on Power BI reports and dashboards Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills • Strong expertise in Microsoft Power BI dashboards and reporting • Experience developing Paginated Reports in Power BI • Advanced SQL and T-SQL development skills • Experience with IBM DB2 databases • Knowledge of Mainframe flat files • Experience integrating multiple data sources into reporting solutions • Familiarity with: • Data Warehousing • Operational Data Stores (ODS) • Data Lakes • Master Data Management (MDM) • OLAP Cubes • Star & Snowflake Schema Reporting & Analytics • Experience creating financial reports involving: • General Ledger • Revenue data • Purchasing data • Strong analytical and data visualization skills • Ability to convert raw data into meaningful dashboards and graphics Microsoft Ecosystem Knowledge • Power BI • Power Automate • Power Apps • Microsoft Teams • PowerPoint integrations Methodologies • Knowledge of SCRUM/Agile Framework Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Oracle Data Warehouse • Knowledge of ERP/Financial Systems • Experience with WebFOCUS • Familiarity with mainframe programming languages and supporting software
