Power BI Developer Location: London / 1 day per week on-site Rate: £550 - £650 per day (Inside IR35) Contract: 3 months (potential to extend) The Opportunity: We're partnering with a globally recognised business to find a Power BI Developer to enhance, optimise, and future-proof their reporting environment. The focus will be on implementing best practices, challenging and refining their current setup, and building a robust, high-performance Power BI stack. The role involves creating interactive dashboards and reports and providing expert guidance to ensure scalability and efficiency. What You'll Be Doing: • Power BI Environment Assessment: critically assess the early-stage Power BI setup, identify architectural and performance gaps, and propose pragmatic improvements aligned with industry standards. • Dashboard & Report Development: Design and build intuitive, high-impact Power BI dashboards and reports, prioritising business-critical needs • Architecture & Stack Optimisation: Configure and optimise the Power BI architecture (Desktop, Service, Snowflake connectors) to ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance. • Snowflake Integration: Efficiently connect to and query Snowflake’s pre-modelled fact and dimension tables to support dynamic reporting needs. • Performance Tuning: Optimise DAX expressions, refine Snowflake queries, and streamline Power BI configurations to improve load times and user experience What We're Looking For: • Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Service, including report creation, data modelling, and DAX • Expertise in configuring Power BI’s stack (gateways, workspaces, Snowflake connectors) for optimal performance and scalability • Experience of Snowflake, including writing efficient SQL queries. • Ability to assess immature BI setups, identify improvement opportunities, and translate business needs into a robust Power BI stack. • Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
