Role description
Applicants MUST be located in New England to be considered. This position is not open to third-party recruiters, independent contractors, or C2C arrangements.
We're seeking a motivated Power BI Developer for a key initiative with a leading regional insurance provider.
This is a unique, "indefinite-term" temporary role. While technically a contract position, the project scope is significant and expected to potentially last for years, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to own a high-impact reporting suite from the ground up.
The Client
The client is a premier Northeast-based commercial insurance carrier specializing in tailored coverage solutions for businesses across a diverse range of local industries.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will lead the development and ownership of a brand-new suite of reports designed for internal stakeholders. You will bridge the gap between complex insurance data and actionable business insights. Reporting directly to the Actuarial Team, you will collaborate with business users across the organization to ensure data visualizations meet their strategic needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Report Development: Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that visualize critical insurance metrics.
• Data Management: Perform light data querying and management to prepare datasets for visualization.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with various business units to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• End-to-End Ownership: Take ownership of the reporting lifecycle, from initial dataset integration to final dashboard delivery and ongoing maintenance.
Qualifications
• Power BI Proficiency: We are open to various skill levels, but a solid foundation in Power BI (Desktop and Service) is required.
• Data Skills: Ability to perform basic data querying and manipulation (SQL experience is a plus).
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience: While Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience is a "nice-to-have," we encourage all qualified developers with a strong analytical mindset to apply.
Work Environment & Location
• Remote-Friendly: This role is open to remote work.
• Proximity: To facilitate collaboration, preference will be given to candidates located in or near New England who are available for periodic in-person meetings.
Pay is negotiable and depends on experience.
