Power BI Developer Pay - $65/h on W2 Location - Arizona (Remote) - Local candidates only Contract of 6 months with possible extension Power BI Front-End Developer – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Document 1. Knowledge Power BI & Data Visualization β€’ - Strong understanding of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. β€’ - Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including star schemas, relationships, and data normalization. β€’ - Understanding of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculated columns, measures, and KPIs. β€’ - Familiarity with Power Query (M language) for data transformation and cleaning. β€’ - Knowledge of report lifecycle management, workspace configurations, and dataset governance. β€’ - Awareness of row-level security (RLS) and data access best practices. β€’ - Understanding of UX/UI principles for dashboard layout, color theory, and effective data storytelling. β€’ - Knowledge of Power BI Paginated Reports for pixel-perfect, production-ready reporting. Data & BI Concepts β€’ - Solid understanding of business intelligence principles, including ETL, semantic modeling, and data governance. β€’ - Working knowledge of SQL and relational database structures. β€’ - Knowledge of common data sources used in enterprise BI (SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure Synapse, Dataverse, etc.). β€’ - Knowledge of healthcare operations and terminology, preferably within Medicaid, including claims, encounters, eligibility, provider data, and regulatory reporting requirements. Microsoft Ecosystem β€’ - Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, and other cloud data tools. β€’ - Knowledge of integrating Power BI with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Teams. 1. Skills Technical Skills β€’ - Ability to design intuitive and engaging Power BI reports with drill-through, bookmarks, hierarchies, and custom visuals. β€’ - Strong DAX development skills to build dynamic, scalable measures. β€’ - Skilled in data cleansing, merging, and transformation with Power Query. β€’ - Ability to optimize report performance (reducing load times, improving model efficiency). β€’ - Experience publishing, refreshing, and managing datasets in Power BI Service. β€’ - Ability to troubleshoot data issues, refresh failures, and performance bottlenecks. β€’ - Ability to automate and orchestrate processes using Power Automate. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills β€’ - Ability to translate business questions into analytical requirements. β€’ - Comfortable working with ambiguous or incomplete requirements. β€’ - Skilled at data storytelling β€” presenting insights clearly and concisely. Collaboration Skills β€’ - Works effectively with business stakeholders, data engineers, and leadership. β€’ - Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts in simple terms. β€’ - Ability to gather requirements through interviews, workshops, or user stories. 1. Abilities Design & Development Abilities β€’ - Ability to create user-friendly dashboards aligned with business needs and branding guidelines. β€’ - Ability to prototype and iterate on visual designs based on feedback. β€’ - Ability to maintain version control and manage incremental report updates. Operational & Organizational Abilities β€’ - Ability to manage multiple report development projects simultaneously. β€’ - Ability to prioritize enhancements, bugs, and stakeholder requests. β€’ - Ability to write clear documentation for data models, reports, and processes. Strategic Abilities β€’ - Ability to identify new opportunities where analytics can improve decision-making. β€’ - Ability to enforce and improve BI governance and best practices. β€’ - Ability to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on BI tools and visualization standards. 1.
