Power BI Developer

Position: Power BI Developer Location: Everett, MA Work Model: hybrid in Everett, MA Duration: Contract Rate: $50 – $55/hr (C2C) Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States Position Overview We are seeking a Power BI Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of business intelligence solutions using Power BI and related technologies. This role involves working closely with project managers, technical leads, and stakeholders to deliver enterprise-level reporting and analytics solutions. Key Responsibilities • Migrate existing SSRS reports to Power BI Report Server • Design and develop reporting solutions in Microsoft Power BI based on business requirements • Provide expertise in data visualization and graphical report design • Participate in upgrade and migration projects from legacy systems to Power BI • Define and follow Power BI development best practices • Collaborate with Product Owners and data development teams to drive requirements to completion • Work with report users to tune and optimize dashboards and reports • Maintain and support existing business intelligence solutions • Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and MS Azure solutions • Mentor other developers on Power BI tools and best practices • Develop and oversee monitoring systems to ensure usage tracking and operational stability • Create and maintain documentation across the software development lifecycle • Evaluate business requirements and provide solutions and development estimates • Assist in building data analytics enterprise models using Power BI, SSAS, AAS, and data flows • Support design and development of cubes and metadata using best practices • Design, implement, and support platforms for ad-hoc access to large datasets • Work with data lake reporting layers Required Technical Skills • Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of related experience in a technical environment • 5+ years of experience creating complex reports, dashboards, and scorecards • 5+ years of advanced experience with MS Power BI connection types including ODI • 5+ years of experience with SQL and writing efficient queries • 2+ years of experience with BI tools including Cognos • Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server data sources • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts • Experience creating SSAS tabular models • Experience connecting to and transforming data in Power BI • Experience building Power BI data models and recommending visualization best practices • Experience with enterprise BI solutions including data marts and data warehouse architecture • Knowledge of SSRS and SSIS • Understanding of OLAP and ETL frameworks • Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines • Ability to work independently with limited supervision • Strong attention to detail and time management skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with cloud technologies • Experience with Agile development methodologies • Knowledge of fact/dimension and star schema models • Power BI certification Additional Notes • Requires strong collaboration and teamwork skills • Must be highly responsive with a strong sense of urgency
