Power BI Report Analyst

Power BI Report Analyst Salt Lake City, UT (hybrid) 6+ Month Contract Pay Rate: $40.00 - $55.00per hr Job Description: Our client is looking for a strong BI Data Analyst with expertise in Power BI, SQL, and some light Python (bonus). This person will be supplementing the current, small development team with a large scale data warehouse project within a financial services organization. You will be responsible for meeting with key stake holders to understand what reporting is being done by hand, then converting these reports to Power BI, which will then be converted to Snowflake. so expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and Python is key. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data, and deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will also: • Develop and maintain interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources • Utilize Python for data analysis, automation of reporting tasks, and enhancing existing reporting processes • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports and dashboards • Provide support and training to end-users on report usage and best practices • Document processes, data sources, and reporting methodologies for future reference • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data visualization and reporting Required Skills: • 3+ years as a Power BI Report Developer or BI Data Analyst within the financial services industry, specifically working closely with key stake holders on a reports requirements gathering • Deep understanding of the financial services industry, terminology etc. • Expertise transforming manually built reports to Power BI • Strong expertise in Power BI, including DAX functions and report design • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation • Familiarity with financial data and metrics Bonus/Soft Skills: • Experience with Python for data analysis and automation tasks • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes • Experience with data visualization best practices • Experience with Data Warehousing, specifically Snowflake • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders Welcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
