Role description
Role Overview: We are seeking a Power BI Solution Architect to assess, advise, and strengthen our end-to-end architecture for data-driven insights in the Digital Quality space. This role will guide the end-to-end design for data ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, governance, and visualization to support a scalable, governed, and insight-driven Power BI ecosystem in a GxP-regulated CDMO environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record of creating actionable, decision-grade analytics, who can work independently with minimal direction while engaging effectively with stakeholders across Quality and Operations. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain interactive, insightful Power BI dashboards and reports using data from Quality Management Systems (e.g., Trackwise, Documentum, SharePoint). Translate business questions and Key Quality Indicators [KQIs] into intuitive, data-driven stories to support strategic and operational decision-making. Evaluate and optimize the current Power BI architecture, covering data ingestion (e.g., from Trackwise, SAP, Documentum), transformation (Power Query/Dataflows/Fabric), and modeling layers. Define best practices for semantic model design, dataset reuse, dataflows, and gold layer datasets. Establish architectural patterns to enable self-service analytics and governed reporting. Provide technical leadership on integration with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or other cloud data platforms as applicable. Collaborate with developers and business teams to align architecture with reporting needs and Digital Quality strategy. Ensure visualizations meet standards for data governance, consistency, usability, and executive clarity. Optimize report performance, interactivity, and scalability to support varied user roles. Support ad-hoc and exploratory analysis requests from Quality leadership. Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in data and analytics architecture with at least years in Power BI enterprise architecture roles. 5+ years of hands-on experience developing impactful, user-centered dashboards in Power BI, preferably in a GxP or life sciences environment. Experience assessing current-state architecture, defining future-state reference architecture blueprint, recommending governance and best practice playbook for Power BI and semantic models, and proposing Azure/Fabric integration and data layer optimization Strong proficiency with DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling best practices. Proven ability to use Power BI to craft executive-level stories and visualize analytical insights clearly and effectively. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent collaboration, requirements-gathering, and communication skills.
