Power BI Solutions Consultant & Technical Mentor (Short-Term Contract)

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Power BI Solutions Consultant to provide expert-led training and technical mentorship for a skilled BI team within a large U.S. manufacturing company. This is not a generic training role—you’ll work directly with real enterprise data to diagnose performance issues, refine data models, and empower the team to build and maintain high-performance Power BI solutions independently. The engagement begins with an onsite audit in Green Bay, WI, followed by targeted virtual deep-dive sessions. Key Responsibilities Conduct a structured audit of existing Power BI data models to identify reporting bottlenecks Provide advanced mentorship in DAX, data modeling, visualization, and performance tuning Deliver hands-on training using real manufacturing datasets (no sample data) Facilitate both onsite discovery sessions and tailored virtual follow-ups Enable the BI team to work independently with improved speed and quality Required Qualifications Advanced expertise in Power BI report development, complex DAX, and performance optimization Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale Power BI data modeling Background in manufacturing, industrial, or asset-centric BI environments Proven ability to mentor technical professionals (Architects, Senior Analysts) Willingness to travel to Green Bay, WI for initial onsite phase Must meet U.S. Person requirements (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to defense-related data compliance Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP data sources (ECC, S/4HANA, CDS views, BW/4HANA) Background in defense manufacturing, shipbuilding, or heavy equipment industries Strong dimensional modeling skills (star schemas, relationship design) Ability to diagnose and remediate underperforming data models Job Type: Contract Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Work Location: Hybrid remote in Green Bay, WI 54344
