Role description
Focus: Environment Assessment, Configuration Review, and Strategic Roadmap Summary We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Automation Consultant to evaluate our current Power Platform configurationsโ€”including Power Automate Desktop (PAD), cloud flows, unattended bot environments, and Power BI reportingโ€”and provide expert recommendations for optimization, governance, and future-state strategy. This role is focused on assessment, analysis, and advisory services, with the technical depth needed to validate whether the existing setup aligns with best practices and organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current Power Platform environment, including: Power Automate Desktop configurations Cloud flow architecture and dependencies Machine groups and unattended bot setups On-premises Data Gateways and connectivity Service accounts, permissions, and security posture Environment-level and tenant-level admin settings Review and document issues, inefficiencies, technical risks, and gaps in existing automation workflows. Evaluate current Power BI dashboards, data models, and reporting structure used to monitor automations and identify improvement opportunities. Analyze telemetry, logs, and monitoring data to assess: Automation reliability Runtime performance Error patterns Infrastructure bottlenecks Provide a strategic roadmap outlining: Recommended configuration changes Environment restructuring (if needed) Governance model enhancements Best-practice standards for future automations Opportunities for expanding analytics and visibility with Power BI Assist internal teams in understanding findings, implications, and suggested next steps. Optionally support the implementation of high-priority fixes or changes resulting from the assessment. Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including: Power Automate Desktop Cloud flows and integrations Power BI report building, data modeling, and DAX fundamentals Proven expertise reviewing and configuring unattended bot environments, including machine policies, credentials, runtimes, and gateways. Deep knowledge of Power Platform administration, tenant-level settings, environments, and governance frameworks. Ability to diagnose complex automation issues using logs, monitoring tools, and performance data. Strong communication skills with the ability to present evaluation results and strategic recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing automation governance models (e.g., CoE toolkit familiarity). Strong understanding of Dataverse, security roles, and solution architecture. Background in RPA best practices and modernization strategies. PowerShell or scripting experience helpful for reviewing system-level configurations.
