Role description
Job Description- Client is seeking to hire an experienced low-code/no-code developer to assist the Tax Office in the design, development, and maintenance of various applications using Microsoft’s Power Platform tools. Power Platform Developer’s role is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the data infrastructure and analytical solutions that support the business operations. This position focuses on both traditional database architecture and modern low-code/no-code platforms. A key function of this role is to empower citizen developers who use Power Platform tools to create business solutions by providing guidance, establishing best practices and ensuring adherence to data governance standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring the data is accurate, accessible and enabling decision making across the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions. The Power Platform Developer will work IT team members, division leaders, business users, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data models, reporting tools, and automated workflows using tools such as SQL server, Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate. This role also contributes to data governance, data quality assurance and strategic use of data across the organization. With a focus on both operational excellence and long-term planning, the Power Platform Developer will assist with the design, development, and support of centralized data system and helps optimize existing business processes using innovative reporting and automation solutions. This position will report to the Tax Office’s IT Division Manager, roles and responsibilities follow. Roles and responsibilities · Designs and maintains scalable database architectures and data models to support reporting, analytics and automation workflows across the organization using SQL server and Power Platform tools. · Develops and Deploys Power Platform solutions (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to enhance business operations and optimize applications, databases, reports, or dashboards. · Follows software development life-cycle best practices to ensure respective applications meet customers’ and technology requirements. · Collaborates with respective Business Analysts to build low-code/no-code solutions, provide guidelines aligning with data standards. · Documents, application, database, reports, and dashboards technical schematics and support documents. · Assists or leads data integration efforts by connecting multiple data sources and automating workflows between internal and external data sources to improve efficiency and reduce manual work. · Analyzes business requirement and translates them into data and reporting solutions that meet operational and strategic goals. · Ensures data quality, security, and compliance by applying best practices, monitoring discrepancies. · Supports reporting and dashboard development by gathering user requirements, building data visualizations. · Provides training, documentation, and ongoing support to end users and citizen developers to enhance adoption of Power Platform tools. · Monitors and evaluates performance of data systems and solutions to identify areas from improvement and ensure optimal functionality · Seeks and creates opportunities for improved performance, learning, and development of IT group or groups, including identifying and addressing problems and/or conflicts, root cause analysis. · Aligns with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational success and the mission of Travis County. · Identify opportunities to use information technology to solve and improve business operations. · Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
