Job Title: Principal Developer, Business Intelligence Location-Type: Onsite (Mon–Thurs) Houston, TX Start Date Is: September 8, 2025 (or ASAP) Duration: 6 months (Contract, potential extension/conversion) Compensation Range: $58.00/hr – $68.00/hr W2 Job Description: We are seeking a Principal Developer, Business Intelligence with strong expertise in Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) to design, develop, and deliver impactful, user-centered applications and solutions. This role supports diverse, high-impact projects within a large, complex corporate environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative setting, demonstrates strong communication skills, and takes ownership from start to finish. This role also requires the ability to engage with business stakeholders, present solutions clearly, and contribute to projects beyond development tasks. A background in data architecture and custom connector development is highly valuable. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: β€’ Design, develop, and optimize Power Apps solutions (Canvas and Model-Driven) to streamline business processes and improve data accessibility. β€’ Build and manage custom connectors to integrate external systems into the Power Platform. β€’ Develop and manage Power Automate workflows to automate processes and optimize operational efficiency. β€’ Support data architecture and governance, ensuring data integrity and compliance across Dataverse, SQL Server, and SharePoint. β€’ Implement ALM practices (solution management, source control, deployment pipelines). β€’ Manage multiple Power Platform environments, including security, access controls, and DLP policies. β€’ Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and provide user support/training. β€’ Create documentation, monitor usage, and troubleshoot performance or usability issues. β€’ Present solutions and project outcomes to business stakeholders and directors. Requirements: Must-Haves: β€’ 4+ years of Power Platform development experience (Power Apps, Power Automate) β€’ Hands-on experience building Canvas apps and optimizing app performance. β€’ D ata architecture/design experience (Dataverse, SQL Server, SharePoint). β€’ Experience with ALM practices for Power Platform. β€’ Proficiency in custom connector development . β€’ Governance and security knowledge (DLP policies, role-based access). β€’ Skilled in environment management across multiple Power Platform instances. β€’ C ommunication skills and ability to present to business stakeholders. β€’ Ability to take ownership of projects and contribute proactively. Nice-to-Haves: β€’ Expertise in Model-Driven Apps. β€’ Familiarity with SQL and API integration. β€’ Knowledge of governance and compliance within Power Platform. β€’ Experience with Dataverse monitoring and optimization. β€’ Exposure to Azure DevOps or Jira for development lifecycle practices. β€’ Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) experience. β€’ Strong UI/UX design skills for application development.
