Role description
Contract: Principal Managing Consultant Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 months Location: Hybrid - London when required Rate: Negotiable (Outside IR35 determination) Reference: 19912 Senior assignment for a Principal Managing Consultant to lead cross-domain (cloud, data centre, network, storage, security, automation, business continuity, vaults, etc.), leadership, high-level and low-level design, bill of materials, strategic guidance. Working on major Enterprise client project. Providing validation, oversight over the following Architecteture team covering: Cloud Computing, Data Centre (compute, Virtualisation and Storage), Network Design, Security Design, Firewall Sr Engineer, Business continuity, Vault work,, Data Security etc. Scope: The Principal Managing Consultant will take a leadership role in solutioning and delivering Technology Resilience and overall outcomes across a large enterprise global project. This will be accomplished by engaging with customer leadership to define priorities and outcomes for engagements, expanding the capabilities and offerings of the practice and delivering on consulting engagements in a leadership capacity. While delivering high-quality outcomes for current customer, the consultant will also collaborate closely with solution owners, architects, and other stakeholders to relentlessly refine and improve all aspects of the service offering, from pre-sales enablement material to engagement structure to final deliverables. Key Responsibilities: Customer Focus: • Understand customer needs and design solutions that solve their needs, short and long-term. This includes requirements gathering, scoping, pricing, and drafting SOW language. • Clearly connect strategic customer business objectives around Technology with the technologies enabling customer outcomes. • Lead the development teams and implementation teams delivering strategies within large-scale data center transformation and modernization projects, ensuring continuity, security, and risk mitigation across all critical systems for the platform. Creative Solutions: • Contributing thought leadership in Technology programs with the ability to create unique Resilience, risk, and security control architectures with recommendations and requirements documentation for clients. • Lead assessment teams and design engagements for customers working toward a Resilience solution with documentation of design, system builds, configurations, and support procedures. • Understand the modernization of legacy data center architectures and managing teams focused on integrating cloud technologies, virtualization, and automation while ensuring a secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure. • Support the development and delivery of briefings, workshops, assessments, and training as foundational offerings to engage customer in new pursuits as Technology evolves. Qualifications: • Strong teamwork. This includes working with leaders, peers, consultants, customers and collaborate effectively • Intellectually curious with a desire to understand constantly evolving technology solutions with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands. • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, or equivalent are highly preferred. • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT and cybersecurity, 5+ years of experience in a principal leadership or consulting position. • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Data Center Architect, or Security Architect in large-scale, critical infrastructure environments. Example roles could include: • Advanced knowledge of data center technologies (e.g., virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP). • Hands-on experience designing and implementing security frameworks for enterprise-critical infrastructure (e.g., network security, data protection, vulnerability management, access control). • Leading disaster recovery planning, business continuity strategies, and incident response. • Familiarity with compliance standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and GDPR in the context of data centers, critical IT infrastructure, and application resilience for business survivability. • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into delivery strategies. • Core leadership capabilities, including mentoring, guiding teams, and influencing senior executives. • Ability to work in a client-driven environment while overseeing delivery of multiple projects and deadlines. • Ability to delegate and manage execution of concurrent tasks in complex environments under adjusting priorities.
