Product Analyst

Position Title: Senior Data Product Analyst Location: New York, NY (3 days onsite, 2 remote) Contract: 6 months + (likely extension) Pay range: $68 on W2 per hour Interview Mode: 1st round via Teams, 2nd round onsite in NYC Position Summary Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a Senior Data Product Analyst who will partner with business stakeholders, product leadership, and delivery teams to build, test, enhance, and support data products that meet operational and strategic business needs. This role is responsible for translating business objectives into clear requirements, supporting cross-functional collaboration, driving analysis and testing activities, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality data products. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, people-centric professional who can bridge business and technical teams, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at varying levels of technical fluency. This person will serve as a key resource for business logic, requirements, documentation, testing, and ongoing product improvement. Key Responsibilities • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to gather, analyze, and define business and technical requirements for data products. • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements for development and delivery teams. • Lead workshops, interviews, and working sessions to elicit requirements and align stakeholders around business objectives. • Create and maintain comprehensive Business Requirements Documents, process flows, workflow artifacts, customer journey maps, and related documentation. • Support product delivery by organizing and tracking work in a software ticketing system such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools. • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while adapting effectively to shifting goals and business needs. • Collaborate with product, engineering, analytics, UX, and business teams to support the design, enhancement, testing, and operation of data products. • Develop and execute user acceptance testing materials, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts. • Analyze reports and business data to support decision-making, continuous improvement, and product enhancement efforts. • Create and analyze Salesforce and/or Power BI reports to support operational and strategic initiatives. • Proactively communicate project status, risks, issues, and dependencies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Facilitate discussions that decompose complex business processes and drive consensus across cross-functional teams. • Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Required Experience • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, product analysis, data product support, data management, or related work in a digital or data-driven environment. • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst in cross-functional teams supporting software systems, digital products, or data products. Technical Skills Must Have • Ability to document business requirements and translate them into clear technical requirements. • Ability to make data-driven decisions and support business collaboration. • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to manage projects effectively and flexibly and adapt when goals or needs change. • Ability to organize work using a software ticketing system • Preferred: Azure DevOps • Also acceptable: JIRA or similar tools • Ability to summarize technical concepts and clearly communicate them to non-technical stakeholders. • Demonstrated stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Experience creating and analyzing Salesforce and/or Power BI reports. • Experience designing, managing, analyzing, testing, or improving software systems. • Experience developing test plans, test cases, and scripts for user acceptance testing (UAT). • Experience working in fast-paced, changing environments. • Experience working within a Scrum/Agile framework. • Proficiency in creating business process documentation and workflow artifacts. • Proven ability to create comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and manage requirements for complex data products. • Proven experience as a Business Analyst. • Self-sufficient individual who works collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results. • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to decompose complex business processes. • Strong people skills with the ability to build consensus in high-pressure situations. Nice To Have • Experience with data visualization tools, analytics platforms, or data engineering concepts. • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and compliance practices. • Knowledge of cloud data solutions and digital product development. • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Project Management (CPM), or Scrum/Agile certifications. Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a strong business analyst with experience supporting data or digital product initiatives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment. They should be comfortable working across business and technical teams, creating detailed requirements documentation, supporting testing and delivery, and translating complex concepts into language stakeholders can easily understand.
