1. The Data Product Owner - Digital Twin will support the Network Design Digital & Data team in developing, managing, and continuously improving data products that enable better planning, optimisation, and management of the electricity transmission network across England and Wales. This role is central to delivering digital and data capabilities that support the transition to a more resilient, efficient, and low-carbon energy system, aligned to Net Zero ambitions.
Experience:
• 12+ years of experience in data product management, product ownership, or technical solution architecture, preferably in domains like Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Smart Cities.
• Build the product vision and roadmap for asset-specific or enterprise-wide digital twins
• Deep familiarity with modern data stacks, IoT platforms, Cloud/Edge infrastructure, and data visualization tools and Digital Twins Definition Language (DTDL).
• A solid understanding of data streaming, time-series data, ETL pipelines, and AI/ML predictive analytics.
• Hands-on experience working in Scrum or SAFe methodologies, including backlog grooming and sprint planning.
• Experienced working with Data Products, Data Fabric, capturing needs, documenting and releasing into production.
Key Responsibilities
• Experience working as a Product Owner, Data Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a digital or data-led environment.
• Support the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from discovery and requirements gathering through to delivery, deployment, and ongoing optimisation.
• Work with stakeholders across Network Design, Digital, Data, and Engineering teams to understand business needs, user pain points, and operational priorities.
• Translate business requirements into clear product features, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring priorities are aligned to business value, strategic outcomes, and delivery capacity.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Architects, Analysts, and Agile delivery teams to ensure successful execution of the roadmap.
• Support the design and evolution of data products within a modern data ecosystem, including data fabric and related data platforms.
• Ensure data products are defined with clear business purpose, data lineage, quality expectations, governance requirements, and measurable outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops, refinement sessions, sprint planning, reviews, and stakeholder demos as part of an Agile delivery model.
• Coordinate testing, validation, and business sign-off activities to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and ready for production release.
• Work with technical teams to support production releases, implementation planning, and adoption of data products into live operations.
• Monitor product performance, user feedback, and business outcomes to drive continuous improvement and future enhancements.
• Produce and maintain clear product documentation, including requirements, process flows, release notes, operating guidance, and stakeholder communications.
• Promote data-driven decision-making by ensuring products provide accessible, trusted, and actionable information to users.
• Support the broader digital transformation agenda by enabling improved network planning, scenario modelling, and operational insight for the electricity transmission network.
• Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
