Product Owner
Location: Greenwood Village, CO (Onsite TuesβThurs)
Duration: 6-month contract (possible extension or conversion)
Pay Rate: $61-65/hr W2
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Owner to help drive the evolution of our digital ecosystem as we modernize legacy data and reporting systems and transition to a cloud-native architecture. This role partners closely with Product Managers, Data Architects, and Agile delivery teams to plan, deliver, and optimize data-driven products and services.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Translate business needs into actionable user stories with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making.
β’ Define, prioritize, and manage the product backlog and roadmap aligned to business goals.
β’ Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and architecture teams to embed data pipelines, governance, and reporting into product design.
β’ Champion the use of data to inform backlog prioritization, customer experience improvements, and performance metrics.
β’ Lead Agile ceremonies and ensure alignment across delivery teams and stakeholders.
β’ Identify and mitigate risks related to data quality, cloud scalability, and system interoperability.
β’ Monitor product performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Key Projects
β’ Data Ingestion & Transformation: Ingesting data from legacy systems and external partners while ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance.
β’ Data Modeling & Productization: Partnering with data architects to design scalable, reusable data models for analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
β’ Cloud Enablement: Supporting migration of data products to the cloud platform in alignment with modernization and cloud-native best practices.
β’ User Enablement: Delivering intuitive, consumable datasets through dashboards, APIs, and self-service tools.
β’ Governance & Metadata: Embedding metadata, lineage, and access controls into the data product lifecycle.
Requirements
β’ Proven experience as a Product Owner in enterprise environments; financial services and cloud transformation experience preferred.
β’ Strong understanding of SAFe Agile practices and experience working in scaled Agile frameworks.
β’ Ability to synthesize complex technical and data inputs into clear product requirements.
β’ Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaboration skills.
β’ Business Analyst experience may be considered in lieu of direct Product Owner experience.
Technology & Tools
β’ Experience with data platforms, data modeling, and analytics tools (e.g., QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau).
β’ Proficiency with data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, or R.
β’ Understanding of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
β’ Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
β’ Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Aha!, and Microsoft Teams.
