Job Summary: As a Product Owner I with BNY, you will play a key role within the Product team, partnering with the Product Owner, business stakeholders, UX, and engineering teams to support the development, enhancement, and delivery of internal tools and digital products. This hybrid role blends product ownership, business analysis, agile delivery, and documentation. You will help translate business needs into actionable requirements, support sprint execution, and ensure clear communication across teams. This position requires 3 days onsite in NYC and operates on a 12-month contract. Key Responsibilities: Product Ownership & Agile Delivery: Support the Product Owner in executing the product vision and roadmap; assist with backlog grooming, sprint planning, story writing, acceptance criteria, and overall agile delivery across multiple tools. Requirements & Business Analysis: Lead working sessions with stakeholders to understand business needs, document requirements, map workflows/processes, and translate findings into functional requirements for engineering. JIRA & Confluence Management: Create and maintain epics, stories, tasks, dashboards, release notes, and documentation. Ensure accuracy and clarity of user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders, engineers, UX designers, operations, and compliance teams to coordinate delivery, gather feedback, and manage communication loops. Documentation & Procedure Development: Produce SOPs, process flows, product guides, training materials, release notes, and onboarding documentation. Support internal training for new tools and enhancements. UAT & Quality Support: Assist in user acceptance testing by executing test cases, documenting results, supporting issue resolution, and gathering user feedback for product improvements. Tool & Project Support: Contribute to the enhancement of credit-services tools including profitability dashboards, underwriting workflow platforms, and other internal systems supporting lending, credit, and risk teams. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. 2–3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Junior Product Owner, or similar role. Experience with the MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and sprint ceremonies. Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and process-flow tools (Miro, Visio, and/or iGrafx). Experience writing user stories, business requirements, process maps, and release notes. Ability to facilitate discussions, ask clarifying questions, and translate business needs into requirements. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving ability; highly organized self-starter. Preferred: Experience in banking, credit, lending, risk, or other financial services environments. Exposure to dashboards, profitability tools, or workflow platforms. Experience with UX collaboration and tools like Figma or Sketch. Basic understanding of data structures, product analytics, or system integrations. Product Owner or Agile certifications. Familiarity with AI concepts.
