Role description
• • NO 3rd Parties or Sponsorship! MUST be w2 hourly only! Technical Product Owner – Regulatory Data & Enterprise Reporting Duration: Through 2026+ extensions or CTH Location: Remote (EST) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to support a large-scale enterprise data transformation initiative focused on regulatory and SEC reporting. This individual will serve as the functional owner of complex data initiatives, partnering with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, architects, QA, and downstream reporting teams to ensure high-quality, trusted data is delivered across the enterprise. This is not a traditional Product Owner role focused solely on Agile delivery. The successful candidate will own enterprise data requirements from intake through delivery, lead source-to-target mapping initiatives, partner with business and engineering teams, and ensure trusted, high-quality data is delivered to downstream reporting platforms. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the Product Owner for enterprise data sourcing initiatives supporting the Unified Conformed Layer (UCL). • Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing competing regulatory, business, and delivery priorities. • Lead requirements gathering with business stakeholders and downstream consumers, translating complex reporting needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications. • Drive source-to-target mapping activities, including identifying Authoritative Data Sources (ADRS), System of Record (SOR) alignment, joins, filters, transformation logic, and attribute-level mapping. • Partner with data architects, engineers, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of enterprise data products. • Facilitate mapping reviews, data governance discussions, and alignment across multiple business and technical teams. • Support Snowflake-based data sourcing and ingestion initiatives while ensuring data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and governance. • Define and support testing strategies focused on data completeness, accuracy, reconciliation, and defect resolution. • Investigate data issues by working with SQL, data profiling, lineage documentation, and technical teams to determine whether issues stem from source data, mapping, business requirements, or technical implementation. • Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and cross-team coordination while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Required Qualifications • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, or Enterprise Data Product Owner in enterprise data environments. • Strong background supporting banking or financial services data platforms. • Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory reporting initiatives (SEC, CCAR, Basel, Axiom, Workiva, FR Y-14, FR Y-9C, or similar). • Proven ownership of source-to-target mapping, including transformation logic, business rules, and authoritative data source selection. • Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, data lineage, data quality, reconciliation, and downstream reporting. • Experience working within Snowflake or enterprise cloud data platform environments (hands-on development is not required). • Comfortable analyzing data using SQL and collaborating with engineering teams to investigate data quality and lineage issues. • Experience leading Agile ceremonies, backlog management, sprint planning, and stakeholder communication.
