Production Planner

Please find additional details about the role below: Title: Production Planner Location: Carlsbad CA (Onsite) Type: Contract Pay rate: $40/hr on W2 (All inclusive) Duration: 12+ Months Job Summary We are seeking a Production Planner to support production planning activities, ensuring material availability, production continuity, and on-time delivery. This role combines production planning expertise with strong analytical skills to optimize planning processes, improve operational efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain production plans to meet customer demand and manufacturing schedules. • Monitor and maintain planning parameters, including safety stock, reorder points, lead times, lot sizes, and MRP settings. • Analyze production, inventory, and supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities. • Generate reports and dashboards to support Production Planning and Operations. • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to resolve material and capacity constraints. • Support root cause analysis for production shortages, late orders, and planning exceptions. • Maintain planning master data and ensure ERP data accuracy. • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and planning process optimization. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Supply Chain Management. • 3+ years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, or Purchasing. • Strong understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and production planning principles. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, and data analysis. • Experience working in a manufacturing environment. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with SAP (S/4HANA or ECC), particularly PP, MM, or Supply Chain modules (strongly preferred). • APICS CPIM Certification (strongly preferred). • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools. • SQL query writing and troubleshooting experience. • Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar analytics platforms. • MBA is a plus.
