Role description
ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner to support a cutting-edge robotics manufacturing team in Westborough, MA. This 9-month contract role focuses on optimizing production planning, supporting new product introduction (NPI) programs, and driving operational excellence across manufacturing and supply chain functions. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment, along with a passion for process improvement and data-driven decision making.
What You’ll Do:
Production Planning & Execution
• Create and maintain finite capacity production schedules based on labor, equipment, and
material constraints
• Manage work orders through the full lifecycle and ensure alignment with production timelines
• Monitor and optimize inventory levels and replenishment strategies
• Identify and resolve capacity constraints through data analysis and simulation
Process Improvement & Analytics
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
• Develop and enhance capacity models and planning tools using SQL, Python, or visualization tools
• Analyze KPIs such as schedule adherence, inventory turns, and supplier performance
• Leverage data to improve planning accuracy, reduce costs, and increase efficiency
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with manufacturing, procurement, engineering, and logistics teams to execute supply plans
• Support new product introduction (NPI) programs from a supply planning perspective
• Communicate risks, constraints, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders
• Contribute to S&OP processes to align supply and demand planning
What You’ll Need:
• 3+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment (required)
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and process improvement techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or related field
Nice to Have:
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Experience with Kinaxis or advanced planning systems
• Exposure to automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing environments
• Master’s degree in a related field
