Role description
The Profitability Analyst - Indirect Costs supports enterprise profitability and cost optimization efforts across Inspire’s company-owned restaurants. This role provides analytical and operational support focused on indirect cost performance, helping translate data into insights that inform decision-making, governance, and execution.
Working closely with the Manager Profitability – Indirect Cost, the Analyst plays a critical role in identifying trends, outliers, and opportunities, supporting reporting and analysis that enable sustained cost discipline and improved restaurant-level profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Cost & Performance Analysis
• Analyze indirect cost performance across categories such as facilities services, supplies, utilities, and service contracts.
• Support identification of trends, variances, and store-level outliers through GL and performance data analysis.
• Assist in tracking savings realization and performance against targets.
Reporting & Insights Support
• Support development and maintenance of profitability reporting and scorecards.
• Partner with Data & Analytics shared services to ensure data accuracy and clarity.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc analysis to support REO leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Translate analytical findings into clear summaries and visuals.
Governance & Execution Support
• Support governance routines by preparing materials, tracking actions, and monitoring follow-through.
• Assist in documenting initiatives, assumptions, and performance outcomes.
• Help identify risks or gaps in execution and escalate findings to the Manager.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with Procurement, Finance, Facilities, Operations, and Brand teams to gather data and context.
• Support alignment between analytical insights and operational realities.
• Incorporate field feedback to improve relevance and usability of analysis.
Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analysis, and data processes.
• Support development of standardized templates, playbooks, and documentation.
• Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, clarity, and execution discipline.
Scope & Impact
• Analytical support for indirect cost performance across ~2,200 company-owned restaurants.
• Contribution to $7–14M+ in annualized indirect cost savings through insight and tracking.
• High exposure to cross-functional teams and enterprise initiatives.
• Foundational role within a strategic, growing organization.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in analytics, finance, operations, or related roles.
• Experience working with financial or operational data; exposure to P&L or GL data preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
• Experience in restaurant, retail, or multi-unit environments preferred.
