Role description
Brunel is looking to hire a Project Controls Lead to work with an Oil and Gas client in Midland, TX. The Project Controls Lead oversees cost, schedule, progress measurement, estimating, and change management for major projects. This role ensures accurate reporting, forecasting, and compliance with project control processes while providing leadership to the project team and contractors. Key Responsibilities β€’ Lead development and execution of the Project Controls and Management of Change (MOC) Plans β€’ Provide cost, schedule, forecasting, and progress reporting to support project benchmarking and decision-making β€’ Coordinate preparation and maintenance of cost breakdown structures, budgets, and master schedules β€’ Review and endorse contractor cost/schedule baselines, forecasts, and change proposals β€’ Facilitate stewardship reviews, capital efficiency initiatives, and Gate/Check Point readiness (ECPs, funding approvals) β€’ Administer and monitor contractor performance in cost control, schedule, and progress measurement β€’ Support bid evaluations, contract budgets, payment terms, and project close-out activities β€’ Mentor and provide guidance to project controls engineers and planners β€’ Serve as the central link between the Project and Project Controls organization β€’ Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and use of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire; SQL/Python helpful) Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field β€’ Proven experience in project controls with a focus on cost and schedule management β€’ Supervisory experience required β€’ Certifications preferred (Primavera, PMI, AACE, etc.) β€’ Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools β€’ Excellent communication, analytical, and mentoring abilities
