About the Role
The Momentum Firm is seeking an experienced Management Consultant to join their Government Advisory practice, focusing on the state and local government industry. This essential, client-facing role involves applying technical knowledge and business principles to develop and implement sustainable, data-driven solutions for public sector organizations. The position emphasizes collaboration with project team members and clients to improve organizational performance, culture, and our clients’ readiness for future challenges.
Responsibilities
• Assess and support public sector organizations in developing and implementing strategies to improve performance.
• Lead and collaborate with consultants on strategic planning, organizational development, and change management projects.
• Collect, analyze, and organize large datasets to identify trends and provide strategic insights.
• Research best practices, industry trends, and conduct benchmarking exercises.
• Create reports and communications for diverse audiences, assisting in technical writing and presentations.
• Design and oversee the implementation of multiple change initiatives intended to enhance organizational effectiveness and operations.
• Manage a diverse group of stakeholder expectations and organizational challenges.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring quality and completion within budget and timelines.
• Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Policy, Business, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2-3 years of strategy or management consulting experience or 5+ years of strategic management experience at a federal, state, or local government agency.
• Based in the Metropolitan Atlanta area and able to commute to client site as needed.
• Proven experience in most or all the following areas: KPI development, strategic planning, change management, strategic communications, stakeholder management, organizational development and design, organizational performance management, designing and conducting research, project management, etc.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technology solutions to enhance client operations and project delivery.
• Intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferences
• Master of Science degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Analytics/MBA, or a related business discipline.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• Experience with performance improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma and/or change management.
• Previous relevant consulting experience with Big 4 or other reputable consulting organizations.
