Python & API Integration Data Engineer

Primary Talent Partners has a 12 month contract opening for a  Python & API Integration Data Engineer to join a national energy company for a hybrid position operating out of Charlotte, NC. Pay: $62.00/hr - $72.00/hr Contact: 12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship Hybrid: Hybrid out of Charlotte, NC. Summary: This professional will be a project resource on the Enterprise Security Application Support & Delivery team primarily as a developer for the Critical Infrastructure Date Hub project. This person will need to be local as they will be hybrid. Responsibilities: • Has deep understanding of the development cycle. • Is able to design and build complex software solutions. • Has experience turning complex ideas into user stories. From there, can turn user stories into workable solutions, providing estimates to complete the work, and breaking down complex work into smaller components. • Assists product owners and business users with questions. • Ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements. • Utilizes appropriate Human Performance tools, especially during testing and implementation activities. • Is able effectively transfer knowledge of technologies built to a less-skilled support team. • Assists with testing and migrating code through test regions. Ensures adherence to appropriate design, coding and source control standards. Leads design and code walk-throughs as a presenter or reviewer. • Is able to present information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form. Recognizes appropriate times to provide this communication. • Exhibits maturity, confidence and a proper level of assertiveness when needed. Effectively handles stress and frustration. Demonstrates the ability to absorb change and continue with positive results. • Experience with applicable Duke standards, IT Security, and ability to apply/produce appropriate deliverables • Helpful traits for this role include critical thinking, self-starting, inquisitiveness, and especially, a desire to grow and learn Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma Required; College Degree preferred. • Desired Qualifications (in order of preference) • Scripting - Kafka, Python • Python development • Strong SQL background (data structures) • API experience (Fortra Tripwire API experience a huge plus) • Compliance understanding • Datamart / Data warehouse experience • Connecting disparate systems • Data modeling • (SSI packages, etc.) • Qlik Preferred Qualifications: • Flink • Power BI Reporting Primary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
