Python Developer | Greenfield Energy Trading | Up to £700/Day Insdie IR35 | Hybrid A Python Developer with strong core engineering skills is required by a leading Trading House institution to support the front office teams in the business. This is a quite unique opportunity because it is one where you will be working front office on requirements provided by the business and help to build them out for their front office desks. As a Python Engineer you'll communicate with energy analysts, and the trading teams to make sure our data is reliable, accessible, and built for the future. This Python role combines hands-on engineering with architectural thinking, where you’ll contribute to design discussions, improve data pipelines, and help set technical direction. Ideally, we want someone who’s comfortable taking ownership, enjoys solving complex problems, and can work across multiple systems and teams to deliver real impact. As a Python Engineer you’ll be working in a fast-paced environment helping Quants and Technology teams to deliver scalable trading services. This role offers the chance to influence architectural decisions and contribute to modernising core platforms used across trading. 💰Up to £700/Day Inside IR35 🏢Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 🚂Central London 💻 Python Engineering, Front End Exposure Key Responsibilities of the Python engineer: • Engineering high-quality backend services using core Python, developing software from scratch rather than simple scripting (experience with OOP is important) • Working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver robust, well-architected solutions • Supporting the evolution of system architecture and best practices Tech Stack & Experience Required: • Strong core Python engineering experience (3 - 6 years) • Exposure to OOP is hugely beneficial • Knowledge of trading environments is important • Azure knowledge is a big plus • Solid communication skills - able to work closely with technical and non technical stakeholders • Be able to take a task from requirements through to completion, asking questions, being creative, and building out various systems while adhering to coding standards.
