Role description
Role/Job title: Python/PySpark, Scala Developer Work Location: Glasgow Role type/Duration: 6 Months contract Mode of working: Onsite (5 days) Day rate: GBP 450 /day (Inside IR35) The Role: As a Python Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in an agile team, focusing on the enhancement, construction, and delivery of top‑tier technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Key responsibilities: β€’ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience β€’ Advanced in Python & PySpark or Scala β€’ Experience in API development and exposure to Python Application development β€’ Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability β€’ Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle β€’ Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security β€’ Practical cloud native experience and knowledge on Kubernetes. Your Profile: Key skills/knowledge/experience: β€’ Familiar with any Cloud environment and knowledge of Kubernetes β€’ Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow β€’ Familiarity with engineering in a regulatory-controlled environment β€’ Managing expectations of non-technical stakeholders. Good to have: β€’ Familiar with AWS via hands-on experience or certification β€’ Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow β€’ Familiarity with the Basel regulatory reporting framework β€’ Familiarity with engineering in a regulatory-controlled environment
