Role description
This role supports trading analysts and commercial teams by building technology and data solutions that help improve business decisions in oil, gas, and power trading. The person will work closely with analysts to understand their needs and create tools, dashboards, automation, and analytics solutions using Python, SQL, cloud technologies, and visualization platforms. Main Responsibilities • Work directly with analysts and trading teams to understand business problems. • Build dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical applications. • Develop data-driven solutions using Python and SQL. • Create interactive visualizations using tools like Power BI, Plotly Dash, and Dataiku. • Support analysts with day-to-day technical and data issues. • Build reusable and scalable applications following software development best practices. • Integrate systems and APIs and support cloud-based solutions (AWS preferred). • Collaborate with global teams and central IT for strategic technology projects. Required Skills • Strong Python programming experience (pandas, numpy, Jupyter) • SQL and database knowledge • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) • Experience with dashboards and data visualization tools • REST API integration knowledge • Git/version control and deployment pipeline experience • Understanding of cloud technologies, preferably AWS • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Education Bachelor’s degree in: • Computer Science • Software Engineering • Mathematics • Physics • Electrical Engineering • or related technical field.
