Role description
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer for a short-term, 7-week onsite engagement in Houston (5 days per week). The role focuses on developing analytics solutions using Python, Databricks, and statistical modeling techniques, with an emphasis on Monte Carlo simulations and risk-focused data analysis. The ideal candidate will be able to translate analytical findings into clear visualizations and communicate effectively with data analytics leads and risk management stakeholders. Experience in the Oil & Gas sector is a strong plus. Requirements: 6–9 years of hands-on Python development experience (Advanced level).Strong expertise with Databricks, including data processing, notebooks, and workflow execution. Solid background in Statistics, particularly Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic modeling, and probability-based analysis. Proficiency with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, or similar).Ability to build and interpret simulation models and translate results into clear insights. Intermediate experience with AI/ML solutions (model development, optimization, or integration).Experience working with or supporting risk analytics teams. Strong communication skills for collaborating with data analytics leadership and risk department stakeholders. Familiarity with Oil & Gas operations or financial/risk modeling is a plus. Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and optimize Python-based analytics workflows in Databricks. Build and run Monte Carlo simulations and other statistical models to support risk and scenario analysis. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and interpret results for key stakeholders. Create data visualizations and dashboards that clearly communicate insights and analytical findings. Collaborate closely with the lead data analytics team and risk department to understand requirements and deliver high-quality analytical outputs. Document methodologies, assumptions, and results to ensure traceability and reproducibility. Provide technical guidance on simulation methods, statistical modeling, and analytical best practices. Ensure all deliverables meet the required quality standards within the compact project timeframe.
