Writing Job Title: Python Developer – Cloud Data Pipelines Location: Hybrid 1 day per month in the Atlanta area Type: Contract to hire (6+ month contract) Compensation: $65-$80/hr β€’ Our client is unable to offer sponsorship now or in the future β€’ About the Opportunity A rapidly growing healthcare technology company is looking for a Python Developer to join their data engineering and machine learning team. This organization develops predictive analytics and AI-driven solutions that help healthcare providers. This is an exciting opportunity for a developer who enjoys solving complex data challenges, building scalable pipelines, and contributing to products that make a real impact in the healthcare industry. What You’ll Do β€’ Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data ingestion pipelines in a cloud-native environment (GCP preferred). β€’ Collaborate closely with Machine Learning Engineers to debug, deploy, and optimize ML models for production. β€’ Write clean, testable, and modular Python code to support new platform features and backend services. β€’ Integrate with and optimize relational and non-relational databases for efficient data retrieval and processing. β€’ Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and back-end services that power internal and client-facing applications. β€’ Ensure best practices for data security, governance, and compliance with healthcare data standards. β€’ Participate in code reviews, CI/CD processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. β€’ Support occasional maintenance of legacy applications (primarily Java-based). What You’ll Bring β€’ 4+ years of hands-on Python development experience, ideally in a data or backend-focused role. β€’ Strong experience with data pipelines, ETL, and API development. β€’ Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure. β€’ Familiarity with non-relational databases (e.g., Bigtable, MongoDB, Cassandra). β€’ Working knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and exposure to CI/CD pipelines. β€’ Understanding of data security standards (HIPAA or similar highly preferred). β€’ Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. β€’ Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Gemini) is a plus. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. Nice to Have β€’ Experience with data warehouse design, data quality frameworks, and pipeline orchestration tools. β€’ Familiarity with microservices, observability frameworks, and monitoring/logging tools. β€’ Background in mathematics, statistics, or machine learning concepts. β€’ Exposure to Java is a plus.
