Role description
Title: Senior Python Engineer with AWS Location: Westlake or Merrimack, NH (Hybrid - 2 alternate weeks onsite per month) Duration: 6 months to start, will renew with strong performance, long term potential. Interview Process: 2 rounds, first round with the HM, then a longer 90 minute interview that combines Tech+ behavioral. The Team: β€’ The Team is looking for someone with a strong Software Engineering background, along with the Cloud Skills. They will need to have Python, and ideally one other language exp in some capacity. They want someone who is language agnostic and able to work with different languages. β€’ They will also need to have strong AWS Skills, working within S3, EKS, Lambda, etc. β€’ Security is now nice to have. β€’ They must be good in Software Engineering, and good in AWS they will be able to coach that. β€’ Do not send anymore candidates who are listed as Devops Engineers, those are auto rejection per the SL and Senior Engineer. They find most of the candidates who are Devops Engineers work at large Organizations and the teams they work in do most of the heavy lifting and they dont have any actual depth to their exp. We are passionate about opensource contribution, sharing our expertise and knowledge with the engineering community while adopting a continuous learning approach supported by a dedicated learning day each week. β€’ The AWS Security and Service Enablement squad is seeking a highly technical, hands-on security engineer with experience on large-scale and/or business critical AWS environments. On this squad, you will bring your cloud security abilities to a group of dedicated engineers that are continuously innovating and improving our capabilities to enable the acceleration of Client’s journey to the cloud. You will work on a wide variety of cloud native stacks and technologies, demonstrating innovative architectures and services. This squad is the starting point for all security capabilities, guardrail definition and service enablement for our AWS environment. β€’ Designing, scaling, and deploying various cloud security controls and services β€’ Building processes and workflows along with a consolidated and collaborative integration of IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS cloud services β€’ Developing API's in Python. β€’ Ensuring seamless user experience with advanced security and compliance of our cloud infrastructure β€’ Maintaining and containing business risk as it pertains to the AWS cloud infrastructure β€’ Working across teams and Business Units to define requirements and deliver solutions β€’ Building comprehensive security controls to enforce policy β€’ Supporting business unit technologists deploying to the public cloud The Expertise and Skills You Bring β€’ 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, security, compliance β€’ A strong understanding of AWS cloud service provider β€’ Engineering/operational support of cloud account configuration in AWS β€’ Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline or security tooling for cloud-native deployments β€’ Need a strong background in developing API's, particularly within Python. β€’ Experience building deployment pipelines: e.g. Jenkins β€’ Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code concepts and technologies β€’ Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions β€’ Strong ability to work with YAML and JSON markup languages β€’ A strong understanding of various cloud service delivery models including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS; automation; containers; virtual compute, storage, and networks; virtual infrastructure management; self-provisioning; and scaling β€’ Ability to work with application and security teams to promote a secure posture in the cloud β€’ You can mentor and train other team members to work effectively in the cloud β€’ You are a self-starter who can independently by reading user documentation Applicant Notices & Disclaimers β€’ For information on benefits, equal opportunity employment, and location-specific applicant notices, click here At SPECTRAFORCE, we are committed to maintaining a workplace that ensures fair compensation and wage transparency in adherence with all applicable state and local laws.
