Job Description:
We are seeking a Quantitative Engineer with a strong foundation in Python and a solid understanding of mathematical and financial principles. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of software engineering expertise, data engineering exposure, and domain knowledge in trading, particularly in energy commodities. The role involves close collaboration with quantitative developers, analysts, and traders to productionize models, support trading operations, and build reliable software solutions.
Responsibilities:
β’ Design and develop robust software applications to productionize quantitative models.
β’ Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and related technologies.
β’ Collaborate with quant analysts and traders to translate requirements into scalable software solutions.
β’ Ensure operational stability with appropriate monitoring, logging, and back-testing mechanisms.
β’ Apply best practices for software engineering, including CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions), testing, and containerization using Docker.
β’ Work in Agile teams, participate in sprints, ceremonies, and contribute to continuous improvement.
β’ Document model logic and results clearly for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Mentor team members and provide support in quantitative engineering practices.
Required Skills:
β’ Programming: Strong expertise in Python and Python scientific libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Statsmodels).
β’ Secondary Language: Proficiency in at least one strongly typed language (e.g., C++, C#, Rust, or Java).
β’ Cloud: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
β’ DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Terraform, GitHub Actions) and containerization (Docker).
β’ Data Engineering: Exposure to PySpark, data lakehouses, and Kafka is a plus.
β’ Finance & Math: Solid understanding of financial concepts such as PnL, greeks, volatility, derivatives, and distributions.
β’ Software Engineering: Proficient in application architecture, security, performance optimization, and packaging.
β’ Database: Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data orchestration tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience working in a trading or financial environment, especially in energy commodities.
β’ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with quants, analysts, and traders in a high-paced environment.
β’ Experience transforming PoC models into scalable and secure production applications.
Educational Background:
β’ Bachelor's, Masterβs, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field.
β’ 8+ years of experience as a software developer, data scientist, or quant engineer.
