Role description
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two Hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 4 million Hosts who have welcomed more than 1 billion guest arrivals in more than 100, 000 cities and towns located in 220+ countries and regions across the globe. Every day, Hosts offer unique stays and one-of-a-kind activities that make it possible for guests to experience the world in a more authentic, connected way. Airbnb was born with a creative spirit, and it’s one of the most defining parts of our culture. We use our curiosity and imagination to come up with unconventional solutions. These are the ideas at the core of Airbnb: β€’ Our community is based on connection and belonging. β€’ Our creativity allows us to imagine new possibilities for people. β€’ Our responsibility is to all of our stakeholders. β€’ It takes a unified team committed to our core values to embody these ideas, and our fast-moving team is committed to leading as a 21st century company. The Community you will join: The Cities team is a cross-functional supply team that supports Airbnb’s global business operations as we coordinate internally and with guests, hosts, and local governments to ensure successful outcomes for our community. Within Cities, Services and Experiences are brand new verticals that further enhance the guest experience through services that make their stay more special or experiences that explore new places with the locals who know it best. The difference you will make: As a Regulatory Operations Manager, you will be pivotal in shaping the operational and regulatory landscape of Services and Experiences offerings. You will drive alignment with cross-functional teams on execution plans, manage and improve the regulatory funnel, and triage internal and external inquiries. We are seeking an operator who is exceptionally effective, entrepreneurial, collaborative, and an excellent communicator. In this role, you will be the voice for the host experience, aligning strategy and execution across multiple internal stakeholders. You are both scrappy and polished, enabling you to move quickly while bringing stakeholders along. Your attention to detail, strong operational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities will be crucial to your success. A typical day: β€’ Develop, execute, and scale operational plans to gather, verify, and maintain regulatory requirements across geographies and business categories. β€’ Analyze data to identify trends, surface anomalies, and support risk assessments, using SQL and dashboarding tools. β€’ Generate both one-off reports and dynamic dashboards to demonstrate, track, and monitor compliance. β€’ Build, validate, and QA reporting pipelines and workflows to support regulatory and internal requirements. β€’ Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, and external partners to deliver automated, scalable compliance solutions and technical requirements. β€’ Monitor and report on key deliverables and milestones, communicating outcomes and recommendations to leadership. β€’ Advocate for the host experience, ensuring regulatory changes and data initiatives are implemented with host and marketplace needs in mind. β€’ Manage and resolve escalations, inquiries, and incidents related to regulatory products and services. Your expertise: β€’ 5+ years’ progressive experience in compliance operations, legal operations, project/program management, data analytics, or related regulated industries in dynamic, ambiguous environments. β€’ Proven track record launching, scaling, and analyzing compliance programs; experience working with large, imperfect datasets in SQL and dashboard/BI tools. β€’ Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence and drive results in matrixed environments without direct authority. β€’ Excellent communicator with ability to translate regulatory and business needs into actionable data and operational solutions. β€’ Demonstrated adaptability, entrepreneurial mindset, and hands-on leadership style. β€’ Exposure to AI-enabled tools in compliance, legal, or ops is a plus. β€’ Alignment with Airbnb’s values and commitment to ethical standards. Belonging & Accommodations: Airbnb is committed to working with the best and brightest people from the broadest talent pool possible. We believe a diversity of ideas fosters innovation and engagement, and allows us to attract the best people, and to develop the best products, services and solutions. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply. If you need assistance, or reasonable accommodation during the application and recruiting process, please connect with your talent sourcing partner.
