Regulatory Reporting Developer / Engineer – Contract
Location: London – 5 days per week onsite
Contract: Initial 6 months

We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Reporting Developer / Engineer to join a high-performing technology team within a leading global financial markets organisation.
The role will focus on building and enhancing technology supporting global trade and transaction reporting, working with complex trading data and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
This is a hands-on engineering position requiring a combination of strong Python/SQL development skills and practical Regulatory Reporting experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop applications, data pipelines and controls supporting global regulatory reporting.
• Build solutions covering complex front-to-back trade and transaction lifecycles.
• Work across regulatory reporting regimes such as MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, CFTC, ASIC, MAS and FinfraG.
• Translate regulatory and business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Work with large volumes of trading and transaction data from multiple upstream systems.
• Investigate reporting breaks, exceptions, reconciliation issues and data-quality problems.
• Develop automated controls and solutions to improve reporting accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Compliance, Operations and Trading/Business stakeholders.
• Enhance existing reporting architecture and improve the scalability and resilience of regulatory reporting platforms.
• Support solutions throughout the full development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, production support and optimisation.
Essential Experience
• Strong commercial Regulatory Reporting / Transaction Reporting experience within Financial Services.
• Hands-on experience with one or more major reporting regimes, ideally including MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, CFTC, ASIC, MAS or FinfraG.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong experience working with relational databases.
• Experience developing data-intensive applications, ETL/data pipelines or large-scale processing solutions.
• Good understanding of financial markets, trading data and trade lifecycles.
• Experience working with transaction-level data, reporting rules, validations, reconciliations and exception management.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, testing and maintainable code.
• Ability to investigate complex data issues and trace problems across multiple systems and datasets.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and experience working across Technology, Compliance and Operations.
Desirable Experience
• Experience within an Investment Bank, Hedge Fund, Asset Manager, Market Maker or other trading environment.
• Knowledge of multiple global regulatory reporting jurisdictions.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering technologies.
• Exposure to distributed or high-volume data processing environments.
• Experience implementing automated regulatory controls and data-quality frameworks.
• Exposure to AI-enabled engineering, automation or machine learning would be advantageous.
