Role description
Overview
Weβre seeking highly analytical and technically skilled Remediation Engineers to join a local engineering team focused on diagnosing and resolving complex data and system issues impacting customer journeys. This role will own the investigation, documentation, and technical remediation of root cause issues within a distributed environment, ensuring long-term system stability and data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze and troubleshoot data scripts written to remediate production or customer-impacting data scenarios.
β’ Investigate distributed system interactions to identify the underlying causes of data or workflow disruptions.
β’ Perform deep analysis of execution timing, race conditions, and system behaviors contributing to recurring issues.
β’ Trace execution paths across databases, stored procedures, and code to isolate the root cause of system failures.
β’ Collaborate with development and operations teams to draft pull requests and propose code fixes for review.
β’ Document findings, proposed remediations, and verification steps in a clear, structured format for cross-team visibility.
β’ Partner with engineering leadership to ensure identified issues are integrated into backlog and long-term platform improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ 5+ years of experience in distributed systems analysis and diagnostics, with an ability to interpret complex system behaviors.
β’ Advanced SQL and database debugging skills (e.g., analyzing stored procedures, queries, and data integrity issues).
β’ Proficiency in code tracing and debugging across application layers and services.
β’ Solid understanding of concurrency, execution timing, and race condition analysis in multi-threaded environments.
β’ Excellent documentation and communication skills for articulating technical findings and collaborating with diverse engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with large-scale, data-driven platforms or enterprise customer systems.
β’ Background in software engineering, data engineering, or site reliability engineering (SRE).
β’ Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development workflows.
