Primary Purpose Of Position The Senior Analyst IT, Data is responsible for ensuring that data within the organization is properly cataloged, maintained, and analyzed for quality. They will act as a subject matter expert for data governance practices, including metadata management, data quality assessments, and data stewardship. This role will help the organization improve the discoverability, reliability, and security of its data, ensuring compliance with data governance standards and contributing to the success of various business units. Primary Duties And Accountabilities

β’ Design and implement data quality dashboards using tools like Power BI to provide clear and actionable insights to business and technical stakeholders on data quality metrics and trends.

β’ Regularly audit data sets and processes to ensure compliance with internal governance policies and external regulatory requirements, providing recommendations for any necessary corrective actions.

β’ Lead and participate in cross-functional teams aimed at improving data quality across the organization, driving initiatives that address systemic data quality issues and align with broader data governance objectives.

β’ Develop, implement, and manage the organization's data catalog, ensuring accurate data representation and metadata management to enhance data discoverability and usability across departments.
β’
β’ Perform complex data quality assessments on data sources and products, ensuring referential and historical integrity. Work closely with stakeholders to resolve issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement processes for continuous improvement.
β’
β’ Collaborate with data stewards and governance teams to enforce data governance standards, including data quality, privacy, and security, to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies.
β’
β’ Provide training to team members and stakeholders on best practices in data management, including the use of data catalogs, metadata, and data quality tools. Document processes, data dictionaries, and lineage for transparency and ease of use.

β’ Stay abreast of emerging trends in data management and governance, recommending and implementing improvements to internal processes and technology usage.
β’
β’ Provide expertise and support for projects involving data migration, integration, and new data initiatives to ensure seamless integration with the data catalog.

β’ Perform complex data analysis and provide expertise in researching data sources, acquiring, profiling, analyzing, manipulating data in support of the construction of the data warehouse and maintaining the quality and integrity of the data
Minimum Qualifications
β’
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline with typically 5 to 8 years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

β’ Strong proficiency with data cataloging tools, metadata management platforms, SQL, and data modeling.
β’
β’ Experience in data quality management and familiarity with ETL processes and data warehouses.
β’
β’ Demonstrated ability to manage and improve processes involving data quality, metadata, and governance.

β’ Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Preferred Qualifications

β’ Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview for managing data governance initiatives, including data profiling, data cataloging, and metadata management. Ability to configure and maintain data quality rules, metrics, and assessments within Purview for comprehensive data quality monitoring.

β’ Expertise in using Power BI for building interactive dashboards that communicate data quality metrics, lineage, and trends to business stakeholders. Ability to automate the reporting of data quality metrics to support continuous monitoring and improvement.

β’ Experience in utilizing Microsoft Synapse with Purview for comprehensive data lineage tracking and quality monitoring across cloud-based and on-premise data platforms, ensuring data consistency and traceability across systems.

β’ Experience working with other leading data quality and metadata management tools like Informatica Data Quality, Collibra, Alation, and Talend. Understanding of how these platforms integrate to ensure data consistency and quality across the enterprise.
