Role description
• Client is Cisco • FULLY REMOTE and Long term Contract • Mid Level- 4-5 years of experience within Fullstack Development and L&D/LMS. • Join Cisco’s Content Platform as a Service (CPaaS) team as a Full Stack Software Engineer (Learning and Development) who extends and integrates commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) learning systems—including Madcap Xyleme Create CCMS, Syndicate Content Delivery System, and Cornerstone LMS—while delivering secure, scalable front- and back-end systems. • Looking for extensive Xyleme experience Must Haves: · 3–5+ years of full-stack software development with proficiency in React, JavaScript, Node.js, Python and modern frameworks; strong experience deploying both front-end and back-end features. · Hands-on expertise with Apache Guacamole (deployment, configuration, integration) for secure remote access. · Experience with learning technologies (Cornerstone, Madcap Xyleme, Degreed) and LCMS/LMS extensibility. · Proven experience with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, IAM) and serverless/cloud-native architectures. · Solid understanding of secure access models, identity integration (OAuth2, SAML), and best practices for data protection. · Proficiency with JS/JSON/HTML5/CSS, RESTful API design, and SOA/integration patterns. · Experience with DBMS technologies (SQL Server, DynamoDB) and writing performant SQL/NoSQL queries. · Comfortable with DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines) and agile delivery in fast-paced environments. · Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to juggle multiple initiatives, and strong stakeholder collaboration. · Exposure to additional development languages (C#, Java), UI/UX tools (Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD), or content governance platforms (Acrolinx). Day to Day: Join Cisco’s Content Platform as a Service (CPaaS) team as a Full Stack Software Engineer (Learning and Development) who extends and integrates commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) learning systems—including Madcap Xyleme Create CCMS, Syndicate Content Delivery System, and Cornerstone LMS—while delivering secure, scalable front- and back-end solutions. You will architect seamless learner experiences, optimize infrastructure for global delivery, and build integrations that power Cisco’s next-generation learning ecosystem. What You’ll Do · Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using React, Node.js, and/or Python, ensuring intuitive learner-facing experiences and resilient back-end services. · Configure and deploy Apache Guacamole to Enable enhanced learning experiences · Build and manage AWS Lambda functions, API Gateway endpoints, and EC2 workloads to support serverless APIs, background processes, and compute-heavy services. · Extend LMS/LCMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, Madcap Xyleme, Syndicare CCMS) through RESTful APIs, SCORM/xAPI standards, and third-party service integrations. · Develop and administer SOA-based solutions that move data across learning tools, analytics platforms (e.g., Watershed, Learning Locker), and enterprise systems. · Automate deployments, monitoring, and observability via CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, CloudWatch, etc.), ensuring high availability and rapid iteration. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams—content design, product, security, vendor partners—to deliver secure, user-centric access, session handling, and support workflows. · Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack, proactively monitor infrastructure, and continuously improve platform performance, content delivery, and learner analytics.
